Wild(ly protective) West? Far (from understood) East? Data security issues continue to divide opinion in the global digital economy

The interplay of geopolitics and law continue to grab the headlines. This article is a great example. It also suggests that the Linklaters' Tech Outlook 2021 was a pretty good forecast of the shifting global dynamic that would - and is - playing out in the world of Big Tech. 

National protectionism of tech and data continues and Chinese companies expanding operations abroad face challenges. However, national security and data privacy - although linked - should not always be seen through the same lens.
