Ranked 2nd and 10th in Asia Law Portal’s 2022 women legal innovators in Asia and 2023 APAC legal innovators respectively, Jennifer is a Singapore-qualified lawyer with a focus on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and other tech-related regulations. She supports tech clients and financial institutions on a range of regulatory matters, and advises them on contractual arrangements pertaining to their business activities such as M&As, collaboration, business reorganisation and carve-outs etc. Bilingual in English and Business Chinese, Jennifer regularly reviews contracts written in traditional Chinese.
A former litigator, Jennifer has assisted with IP and technology-related disputes, including patent infringements and revocations, acting for a blockchain insurance platform in an arbitration relating to purported misrepresentations in its white paper, and acting for a cybersecurity firm in Singapore’s first commercial dispute on whether government Covid-19 measures had frustrated a contract.
Jennifer is an active advocate for legal tech innovation. She co-founded LawTech.Asia and sits on the steering committee of ALITA. She is also a visiting researcher at NUS Law’s Centre for Technology and the Law, and a visiting faculty at the Legal Innovation & Technology Institute. She is regularly invited to speak on issues relating to legal innovation, AI, Web 3 and NFTs.
