About me

Julia is widely acknowledged as a leading German intellectual property lawyer, including being listed as one of the “Top 250 Women in IP” in IP Stars and named as one of JUVE’s “40 below 40”, a list of outstanding legal professionals in Germany. She advises on both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property issues, including enforcement of intellectual property rights and advising clients defending allegations of infringement. She focusses on representing clients in cross-border patent infringement proceedings.

Julia has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical and electronics sectors.

• Shire ViroPharma: representing in a cross-border litigation against CSL Behring with parallel proceedings in the US, UK and France in relation to medication for rare diseases.
• Sanofi and Regeneron: representing in the defence of a patent infringement in the US, UK, France and Germany related to a monoclonal antibody.
• Seoul Semiconductor: advising on a global enforcement campaign of its patent rights against competitors in the US, Germany and UK.
• A global pharmaceutical company: representing in cross-border patent litigation proceedings in relation to next generation HIV therapy (US, Germany, UK, France, Ireland, Canada).
• Faiveley/Wabtec: representing in a cross-border patent dispute relating to a breaking system for high-speed trains (France, Germany, Italy).
• A pharma and software company: advising on questions relating to the reform of the German Patent Act.
• The German Ministry of Health: representing in a complex copyright litigation relating to a database that is essential for the German health system.
